Find charging points and plan a route
Find nearby charging stations and get a direct link to the Google Maps route
About this workflow
Ideally, your customers don’t want to spend too much time searching for charging stations. Just like when looking for car parks, petrol stations or service stations, they’re usually on the move and need one thing above all else: to quickly find the nearest suitable location. All the better, then, that you can use an AI workflow for this, which not only identifies nearby locations but can also calculate the route there, which can be easily viewed in Google Maps. This allows your customers to reach your locations quickly and effortlessly, in just one step. In this way, a search query is immediately transformed into a usable route to the desired destination.
How it works:
This AI workflow uses webhooks and AI actions.
1. The user sends a location request in the chat
Users search for a suitable location and phrase their query in natural language, e.g.:
“Where can I find the nearest charging station?”
“Show me a location near me.”
The location workflow is activated automatically.
2. AI recognises search intent and location-based queries
The system recognises that a location is being searched for and, at the same time, checks what information is already available for the search. It determines: Is a nearby location being sought? Has a location already been specified? Is direct navigation required?
3. Location logic determines the appropriate search location
For the search, the system automatically checks whether a location is available, e.g.
- via: Location details in the query or conversation context Browser or
- device sharing
This allows the search to be started as directly as possible.
4. If no location is available, it is requested
If location data is missing, the bot automatically asks for it, e.g.:
“Which city are you searching in?”
or
“Would you like to share your location?”
5. Search parameters are generated automatically
As soon as a location is specified, it is converted into specific search parameters, such as:
- City
- Postcode
- Coordinates
- Search radius
This allows for a targeted search for relevant locations.
6. Suitable nearby locations are identified
The interface searches through the available locations and finds suitable results based on distance and relevance.
7. Results are prioritised and presented
- sorted by proximity
- clearly prioritised
- presented in a way that is easy for users to understand
This ensures the best option is found quickly.
8. Route to the desired location is calculated automatically
As soon as a suitable location has been selected, the workflow immediately generates the appropriate route there. The navigation can then be conveniently transferred to map services such as Google Maps.
9. Users reach their destination in just one step
Instead of searching for locations themselves and then navigating manually, users
- receive:the relevant location
- a direct route
- quick redirection to navigation via a link
